Condolence Message from BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir || 23 Oct 2025Condolence Message from BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam AlamgirEminent freedom fighter and former President of Vedarganj Upazila BNP, as well as a member of the convening committee of Shariatpur District Vedarganj Upazila BNP, Alhaj Hanif Mahmud passed away yesterday evening while undergoing treatment at Shariatpur Sadar Hospital. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. He was 72 years old at the time of his death. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed deep grief and sorrow over his demise.In a condolence message today, the BNP Secretary General said,“I am deeply saddened, along with his bereaved family members, by the death of freedom fighter Alhaj Hanif Mahmud. He played a significant role in strengthening and revitalizing Vedarganj Upazila BNP in Shariatpur District. The nation will forever remember with reverence his courageous contribution as a valiant freedom fighter in the Liberation War of 1971. He was a firm believer in the ideals and philosophy of Bangladeshi nationalism, as envisioned by Shaheed President Bir Uttam Ziaur Rahman. His active participation in democratic movements under the leadership of Begum Khaleda Zia, Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, was truly commendable. I pray that Almighty Allah grants him Jannah and gives his bereaved family the strength to bear this profound loss.”In his message, the BNP Secretary General prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed his deepest sympathy to the bereaved family members, relatives, admirers, and well-wishers.Message Released by:(Adv.
